Our boat trip is right around the corner on Monday, June rdh. Please remember that all students need to be at school by 7:45 am. All students must pack a disposable lunch and wear rubber-soled shoes or boots. Students must dress for the weather. Please keep in mind that because we will be out on the boat, temperatures may be 5-10 degrees colder than the forecasted temperatures.

If your child is not attending this trip, please let me know if he/she will be present at school that day so I can make arrangements.

Many thanks to the parents that expressed interest in chaperoning our MSU Sea Grant Boat Trip at Lake Erie Metropark. Unfortunately, limited chaperones are able to attend due to boat capacity. The following chaperones will be joining us on June 3rd:

Mrs. Ferguson
Mrs. Martinez
Mr. Marks
On the day of the trip, you may wish to bring a backpack to carry your lunch or other personal belongings. Also, please notify me whether you will be riding the bus or meeting us there. Please keep in mind that all students must ride the bus.
All permission slips and money were due May 24th.

Field Day

Field Day is a great opportunity for students to have fun with classmates and build teamwork through camaraderie. Participation in Field Day is also an opportunity open to responsible, respectful, and safe individuals. Students that continue to not have their work done in class will not be able to participate in Field Day.
Our Field Day is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4th, 1:15-3:00. Students MUST wear tennis shoes in order to participate safely in the planned events. Also, please be mindful that students should wear darker clothes that are unable to see through if they get wet.

Summer Slide Prevention Resources

Please take advantage of the following literacy opportunities available to Arno students:
Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program

This program is here to help you on your way, encouraging you to read books of your own choosing and earn a FREE book, simply by following these three easy steps:

1. Read any eight books this summer and record them in your Summer Reading Journal. Tell us which part of the book is your favorite, and why.
2. Bring your completed journal to a Barnes & Noble store between August 1st and August 31stFind a Store
3. Choose your FREE booke from the book list featured on the back of the journal.

Summer Math Review
Students in Mrs. Kalis class are receiving a hard copy of the math review packet. This packet is full of activities that correlate to fourth grade Common Core standards. Please use this as a tool throughout the summer to keep up your child’s math skills so that they are more successful in fifth grade. I remember waking up in the summer, and my mom would have a math workbook open and the pages were labeled with the day’s date. I had to complete the necessary pages before beginning other fun activities. One summer, my mom did this and I was able to earn tickets that I could redeem for increments of time to watch tv. These are just a couple ideas. The possibilities are endless!

    • I don’t have access to it on my phone, but I can try sending it when I get home later tonight. Did you need just the pyramid or the 2 sorts (3 branches & 3 levels of govt.) as well?
