NWEA/MAP Testing

Your child will be taking the NWEA/MAP assessments this week. In order to help prepare your child to do his/her best on this state assessment, please encourage your child to be their best self by doing the following:

  1. Get a good night’s rest; go to bed earlier than normal. Refrain from screens 1 hour prior to bedtime to support optimal REM sleep cycle.
  2. Eat breakfast; nothing too heavy.
  3. Charge his/her chromebook the night before testing.
  4. Arrive to school on time; we begin our testing session right away.
  5. Be positive, and let your child know that HE/SHE CAN DO IT!

English Language Arts

Third graders will be given their List 12 spelling words, and they will be assessed on Friday, 5/12. Please encourage your child to practice the patterns used in their individualized list. Students will also practice their pattern with a Spelling Sort/Sentences assignment.

**MSTEP Homework Packet**

This homework assignment was sent home Friday, May 5th. Please stress the skills of reading the passages and looking back in the story to answer the questions. Thank you!

MSTEP Homework Packet #11 due 5/12/23

These students earned a charm for scoring 80% or higher on Weekly Homework Packet #19.

ReflexMath

Please remember that mastery of multiplication and division facts is the goal for the end of third grade. The report card will be marked accordingly. Students should be completing a session of ReflexMath daily. We try to fit it in during the school day, but this is not always possible. Please remind your child after school in case it hasn’t been completed yet for the day. You can see your child’s progress through their Reflex account. So far, here are the classroom stats:

Congratulations to Ariana L! She mastered all of her math facts on ReflexMath and earned her Prodigy login credentials.

April Super Cougars

Introducing April’s Super Cougars! Connor, Matthew, and Ava have proven to be safe, responsible, and respectful students in third grade. They earned Culver’s lunch from Mr. Zielinski. We are so proud of them!
